Itinerary
Day 1: Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Laguna Xmaben
You will start your tour in the historic town of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, about 95 kilometers south of Tulúm. Due to its historical background, Felipe Carrillo Puerto is still the focus of Mayan pride. Located nearby is the oracle, which guided the rebels through the Caste War and which today is still visited by many Maya. In the afternoon you will continue with the village of Señor. From here you will go to the jungle in order to discover the blue lagoon in X-Maben and to enjoy the calm, crystal clear water. You can swim at this special place and visit an X K'om, a cave which was formed naturally. Accommodation at the Hotel Villas Mayas in Felipe Carillo Puerto.
Day 2: Biosphere reserve Sian Ka'an
After a delicious breakfast you will go to the indigenous settlement of Chunyaxché, located in the world renowned biosphere reserve. Here you can get to know hidden and mysterious places in the jungle and discover archaeological sites. You will explore the surroundings on paths and will end the day with a ride on the water. In boats you will go through canals that served in the past as boundaries for the Maya in the Classical Period. You will be accompanied by local people who are experienced guides and experts of the biosphere reserve of Sian Ka'an. After the excursion you will return to eat in the city of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Accommodation at the Hotel Villas Mayas.
Day 3: Tihosuco y Lalcah
After breakfast in Felipe Carrillo Puerto you will set off towards the indigenous settlement of Tihosuco. The museum of the Caste War is located here, and it contains exciting exhibitions. You can also wander through the forest and discover "Lal Cah", a Spanish settlement, which was abandoned in the 16th Century and which remains hidden in the jungle a few kilometers away. The present inhabitants of Tihosuco now want to share the place with visitors who would like to learn more about the Caste War and also discover the nature which can be found here. In the afternoon there will be a transfer back to Playa del Carmen.
