Location Holbox island is located in a protected area in Yom Balam and is one of the few Caribean islands that conserve its white beaches and protects its mangrove swamps. In Holbox there is only one small town that lives off fishing. Roads are covered in sand and transport is on bicycles and golf carts. Hotel Hotel Xaloc Resort is a small eco-tourism resort, and is directly located on the beach. This eco-hotel combines the local arquitecture with palm roofs, and excellent facilities. Rooms The 18 rooms are on both sides of the pool. The construction of the rooms used local materials, for example the cottage roofs are made from wood and palm leaves. Every cottage has a terrace with a hammock and a view of the sea. All room are equipped with ceiling fans, moquito nets, bathroom with two washbasins and either a king size bed or two double beds.
